Established in Switzerland in 2012 by pharmaceutical company Institut Biochimique SA, the IBSA Foundation for Scientific Research is a non-profit organisation that promotes and supports scientific research, progress and education. The Foundation is strongly committed to backing young investigators and, to this end, offers fellowships to promote and facilitate the realisation of their postdoctoral traineeships.
In 2016, the Foundation is offering 12-month fellowships in the following five medical research fields:
- Pain medicine
Applicants can be of any nationality and should:
- Be under 35 years old at the deadline for submission of proposals.
- Be in possession of a degree in medicine, biology, pharmacy, biotechnology, bioengineering (open to PhDs, postdocs, residents).
For the duration of a grant, applicants must operate in a hosting institution, ie a research organisation (university, hospital or other research centre), whose primary goal is to independently conduct non-economic biomedical research and disseminate its results.
Awards of €24,000 are made for 12 months.
Applications should be submitted by the closing date of 31 December 2016.
